FREDERICK, MD, May 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — BioElectronics Corporation (OTC PINK: BIEL), maker of consumer medical electronics, announced today that the World Intellectual Property Organization, International Bureau has published its new patent (#WO2013059804) “Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Device with Adhesive Applicator”.

The new patent combines Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Technology with the combining of an adhesive that contains a therapeutic substance such as Salicylate, a Nicotinate Ester, Capsaicin, Isopropanol, Menthol or a combination thereof.  In modern medicine, salicylic acid and its derivatives are used as constituents of some rubefacient products. Methyl Salicylate can be used as a liniment to soothe joint and muscle pain; and choline salicylate can be used topically to relieve the pain of mouth ulcers.  Therefore, when the PEMF technology is combined with a therapeutic substance, the pain relief is immediate and longer lasting even when the immediate sensation wears off.
